Athan Giannikos - Managing Director
Athan has over Seventeen years experience in the construction industry. Starting from humble beginnings as a Carpentry Apprentice, Athan progressed to Project Management and then went on to become a Construction Manager overseeing all residential construction works for one of Sydney’s top tier residential companies turning over well in excess of $20million per year.
In 2005 Athan founded Agiacon Pty Ltd (ultimately bringing in a partner and becoming AgiaconGrid Pty Ltd) and grew the company to become a leading award winning firm in the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors.
In his time with AgiaconGrid, Athan oversaw one of the fastest growing construction outfits in the industry. He personally developed the delivery, management and accounting systems that ultimately led to the extraordinary success of the business.
In 2009, Athan sold his interests in AgiaconGrid Pty Ltd with a clear vision to getting back to competitive pricing and personal service, forming Agia Projects Pty Ltd.
Justin Giannikos
Justin has 16 years of broad Victorian building industry experience in the areas of: energy ratings & certification, project management, architecture, construction management, property development, building condition inspections and general consulting.
The early formative years of Justin’s career were spent working with a Clifton Hill based Design & Construction firm which specialised in the delivery of quality, custom designed inner city residential projects. Justin gained invaluable wide ranging experience in this environment, being exposed to and taking a leading role in all aspects of project delivery and business management.
For the last 9 years Justin has owned and operated MC2 Architects Pty Ltd & Energy Consultants which is a project management, architectural & energy rating practice specialising in residential and small commercial projects from $50K through to $15M. The majority of the practice’s architectural projects are high quality residential projects in the $350K-$1M range, spread across all areas of Melbourne and Regional Victoria.
As an Accredited Energy Rater Justin has provided energy rating & certification services to the Victorian Building Industry since 2002, long before the introductions of the existing 5 star standards for all new homes. Justin has consulted on small and large projects, including Grocon’s Queen Victoria Redevelopment in Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
Justin is a Licensed Builder in Victoria and New South Wales, a registered Architect and accredited Energy Rater. Justin is a member of the Master Builders Association of Victoria and the Australian Institute of Architects.
Matthew Trenear - Estimator/Contracts Administrator
Matthew has 12 years experience in the building industry, starting initially at Taylor Construction Group. It was here Matthew learnt quickly and managed the total process including project feasibilities, cost planning, tendering, contract negotiations, administration and project management. Matthew became a key figure in the growth of the company only to leave to broaden his horizons overseas.
Spending 8 years overseas Matthew has gained valuable experience. Firstly working with Arcadis (London, UK) that ranks among the top 10 management and engineering consultancies in the world. Here Matthew experienced the client side of project and cost management in an exciting and dynamic role.
Most recently Matthew worked with an enthusiastic forward-thinking company OD Projects in London, concentrating on their high-end residential projects. The focus here was to understand and interpret the client’s expectations and deliver high quality projects on time and within budget.
Matthew’s ability to estimate and cost plan is a strong attribute to his project management and financial control of the project and is integral within the Agia Projects team.
Michael Goodwin - Project Coordinator
With 6 years building and construction experience as a Carpenter/ Leading hand and now a Project co-co-ordinator Mick has managed some of the most high end residential projects, amongst exclusive clientele and has gathered exceptional rapport with clients, architects and contractors. His everything is possible attitude and a first class eye for quality is but some of the reasons why Mick has become an integral part of the Agia projects family.
